Dr. Dan Kahler Innovative Teaching Grants Program

The Dr. Dan Kahler Innovative Teaching Grants Program funds enhanced teaching and learning opportunities not provided by tax dollars. Applicants must demonstrate creative, innovative and effective ways to meet students’ needs, while increasing their motivation to learn and achieving measurable outcomes.

Grants for 2012-2013 were awarded in April during the Education Foundation’s Great Grant Giveaway. For descriptions of the winners, click here. Since 1996, the Education Foundation has awarded 159 grants totaling more than $182,000. For a list of all winners since 1997, click here.

Applications for the 2013-2014 school year are available now. There are two grant opportunities. Click on each link below for a PDF of the grant guidelines, applications and evaluation criteria. Word versions for each grant appear below.

Teaching grants: Awarded to teachers or staff members for amounts up to $1,000.

Site grants: Awarded to a site, multiple sites or a program for amounts up to $3,000.

The Education Foundation Advisory Board will determine the number of grants awarded annually. All applications will be reviewed anonymously by a committee of educators and community and Education Foundation representatives.
