Health Services
School nurses attend to immediate student health needs, complete health, vision and hearing screenings, participate in the development and implementation of individual health plans for students with special needs, maintain immunization and other required public health records and provide health education.
Jon Brady, director of Safety & Security, supervises district school nurses and can answer questions regarding nurse assignments, evaluation of school nurses, health room equipment and supplies, medication policy or the reporting of public health information. District nurse facilitator is Dana Fifer who may be reached at (816) 413-6872.
Contact your school nurse or administrator regarding your school's medication policy and medication form. In general, medications that are to be taken by a student are to be delivered in person by the student's parent/guardian to the school nurse or to other authorized personnel.
