Library/Media Centers
To make the process easier for parents, North Kansas City Schools has made its library catalog, called Destiny, available to district students and their families online. Simply, log into the district Portal at http://my.nkcschools.org, using nkclib as both your login and password. When the Destiny screen opens, click on the name of your school and begin searching.
In addition, your elementary librarian will have posted other popular online learning links, including those to Mid-Continent Public Library and to North Kansas City Public Library. At Mid-Continent, check out their school support section and see how your child can get live homework help from online tutors. And, with the use of your MCPL card, you can check out books, or download and listen to audio books.
North Kansas City Public Library offers similar options and includes a page of helpful and fun websites for children (well worth investigating with the younger set) and an invitation to their weekly children’s story hour.
Students who want to use school library resources at home can access all District research databases through the student portal.
