Library/Media Centers are integral to learning in every building within the North Kansas City Schools system. To encourage reading at home and to make the process easier for parents, NKC Schools has made its library catalog, called Destiny, available to district students and their families online. Simply, log into the district Portal at https://my.nkcschools.org, using nkclib as both your login and password. When the Destiny screen opens, click on the name of your school and begin searching.
In addition, elementary librarians have posted other popular online learning links, including those to Mid-Continent Public Library and to North Kansas City Public Library. At Mid-Continent, check out their school support section and see how your child can get homework help from online tutors. And, with the use of your library cards, you can check out books, or download and listen to audio books, magazines and videos.
North Kansas City Public Library offers similar options and includes a page of helpful and fun websites for children.
Students who want to use school library resources at home can access all district research databases through the student portal.
