Senior Tax Exchange Program (STEP)

The Senior Tax Exchange Program (STEP) is an employment opportunity for senior citizens to work in the district and apply their earnings toward payment of school property taxes.

Any senior who is 62 years of age or older, who receives social security and has taxable property within the North Kansas City School District is eligible to apply.

The STEP employee will have the flexibility of choosing when and how many hours per week he or she works, as long as the 78 hours are completed within the calendar year.
