Oak Park High School will host a retirement open house for Interim Principal Gary Miller on Thursday, May 23, in the school's media center. Event is planned from 4-5:30 p.m.

Maplewood Elementary will host a Retirement Open House for Debbie Fritson and Joyce Christman on Thursday, May 23, at the Maplewood Media Center from 4-5:30 p.m.

Friday, May 24, is no longer the last day of school due to snow days taken during the winter months. Friday, May 24, now reverts to a full day of school. The last day of school, which will be Friday, May 31, is the half day for K-12 students.

Monday, May 27, is the Memorial Day Holiday. No School K-12. Administrative offices across the district will be closed, and Adventure Club will be closed.

May 28-31

Tuesday through Friday, May 28-31, are make-up days for North Kansas City Schools. Tuesday through Thursday will be a full day of class for K-12 students. Friday, May 31, will be a half day. Summer XLT for many students begins Monday, June 3.

Briarcliff Elementary will host a Retirement Open House honoring Carol Barr, Kathy Gaskill and Debbie Greenfield on Tuesday, May 28, in the school library media center.  Festivities begin at 4 o'clock.

Join Communications & Community Programs as they honor Linda Martens at a Retirement Celebration Wednesday, May 29, from 3-5 p.m. in the Doolin Board Room.

Topping Elementary will host a retirement reception for music teacher Debbie Roe and food service production specialist Carol Martin on Thursday, May 30, from 4-6 p.m. in the school library.

The Staley High School football team will host their annual Sports Physical Night at the high school on Thursday, May 30, from 4-8 p.m. in the Great Hall. Cost is $20 cash per person. Open to the public, all ages may participate.  (More...)

The Last Day of School in NKC Schools will be Friday, May 31. This is a half day for K-12 students.

Maple Park Middle School staff will host a Retirement Open House honoring Stephen Mandeville and Brian Pearson. Event is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the school on Friday, May 31.

The Winnetonka Girls/Boys Tennis Team Car Wash is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. until noon. Find them at the Burger King, located at 6001 NE Antioch Road in Gladstone.

Winnetonka Griffinettes will hold a car wash on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Hy-Vee on Prospect and 72nd Street. Proceeds will support the Griffinette competition fees, uniforms and poms. 

June 3 - July 25

Once again NKC Schools administrative offices will observe summer hours beginning Monday, June 3, and concluding Thursday, July 25, 2013, in a conservation effort to reduce the energy demand of our resources and facilities. During this altered schedule, office hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

The GED Program will hold its Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the Winnetonka High School auditorium.  Start time is 3:00 p.m.

The Board of Education meets Tuesday, June 11, first for a Board Retreat from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (TBD) and then beginning at 7 p.m. in the Doolin Board Room for their regular board meeting.  (More...)
