North Kansas City Schools, and Gracemor Elementary, stands with our students, families and staff against any and all forms of injustice and discrimination from race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. As a learning community committed to excellence and dedicated to serving as champions for ALL students, we will continue to do the work of uprooting and addressing the people, policies, and practices that perpetuate discrimination, exclusion and other forms of oppression. Our children are living and learning during this time of unrest and we want to continue to do our part in promoting and creating positive transformations. By cultivating empathy and deep understanding, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on our collective strength to build bridges, support healing and champion meaningful and lasting change. We will use our powerful platform as educators to build a community of critical thinkers who value the humanity in everyone and practice equity. Much work lies ahead for our school, our school district and society. This isn’t the type of work that is ever complete. There won’t be a point at which we have arrived. North Kansas City Schools, with the support of our Board of Education, remains committed to the challenges we may encounter and making the world we send kids into a better place for all.
I'm Ready For Kindergarten
Kindergarten Enrollment for 2020-21 Now Open
Spring has arrived and with it time for kindergarten students to enroll for the 2020-21 school year! If they haven’t already done so, families of an incoming kindergarten student who is brand new to our district can complete the enrollment process online at www.nkcschools.org/registration. Find the information for “NEW Families for 2020-21” and follow the directions. Those kindergarten students who have been in our district for preschool will enroll online in mid-July during open enrollment for our returning students. The online registration system is user-friendly but if assistance is needed, please call the school office and they will be happy to help.
It is hoped improving conditions related to the coronavirus and relaxing of social distancing requirements will allow us to welcome the newest members of our school community to school soon.
NKC Schools is excited to welcome incoming kindergartners to our community of learners and can’t wait to see then in the classroom very soon!
