Antioch Middle School is the home of the SPARTANS! AMS opened in 1962, with Joe Gardner as Principal. We are lucky to have a legacy of great students, staff and community members here in the North Kansas City School District! Antioch boasts several activities for our students; athletic teams, art clubs, competitive drama and more. We strive to embrace and celebrate the middle school student at this age in their development.

The program of classes at Antioch is designed to develop the interests of our students. Antioch offers Project Lead the Way (PLTW) classes in computer science and engineering, where students learn problem-solving strategies, critical and creative thinking, and how to communicate and collaborate. AVID is a postsecondary college readiness system designed to increase school-wide learning and performance. The elective class is one period a day. Students learn organizational and study skills, work on critical thinking and ask probing questions, get academic help from peers and college tutors, and participate in enrichment and motivational activities that make college attainable. Students can choose to develop their knowledge of foreign languages and cultures through their Encore classes. As 8th graders, students can even take Spanish I or French I for high school credits! From Honors classes to music programs, Antioch strives to help each student develop their talents during their time here.
