Programs at Crestview

  • Elementary students have opportunities to expand their school day experience in multiple ways that can increase learning as well as be a way to enjoy the collaboration of students with similar interests.

    Student Council
Each 3rd-5th classroom elects a boy and a girl to serve on “Student Council.” Students must have parent permission to serve, since meetings will be scheduled outside of the regular school day. Student Council members meet monthly and serve in an advisory capacity. They are responsible for sponsoring a fundraiser for a school wide project as well as organizing other Crestview activities.

    Running Club
This club is open to 3-5 students. Run club is from 4:10-5:10 Tuesday/Wednesdays. Goals are set and students are rewarded for their accomplishments. Bus transportation is not available for these activities.

    ELL Tutoring
This before school tutoring programming is offered to ELL students and supplements regular classroom instruction. Students receive small group instruction while engaged in a computer-based learning program. Communication Arts learning goals are individually set and student progress is monitored for growth. Bus transportation is available for these activities.

    Before School Tutoring
Tutoring is provided to all students who are struggling academically. Small group, intensive instruction is provided for students to ensure their success in reading, writing, and math. Transportation may be available for those students who regularly ride the bus.

    Locker-Room Boys/Glow Girls
This program is for 5th grade boys and girls. The primary aim is to encourage proper manners, hygiene, and citizenship within the school as well as in the community. Local community organizations partner with lead teachers to facilitate these programs.
