High School Equivalency Preparation Classes

    • We offer classes for High School Equivalency to help prepare students to take the HiSET exam (formerly the GED). Morning classes are held from 9:30 am-12:30pm and evening classes are held from 6:00pm-8:30pm (Monday and Wednesday ONLY for the summer). All students are asked to commit to a minimum of 2 classes per week (6 hours) to successfully prepare for the HiSET Exam.

**In order to enroll in classes to prepare to take the high school equivalency exam, you must attend an Orientation session. To register for an Orientation, click HERE.

      • If you are planning to take the HiSET test, the cost will be around $100 for in person testing and $150 for online testing for the full battery.

      • We do not give the HiSET test at this location. When it is determined that you are ready to take the tests (through formal and informal assessment tools), we will help you sign up for the test at the best location for you. Remote testing for the HiSET is currently an option. HiSET testing information can be found at hiset.ets.org.

      • If English is not your native language, we require students to read English at a fifth grade level or higher. If not, we will prepare you in reading classes in our adult English Language Learners. Concurrent enrollment in both programs is an option for students that meet those requirements.

**We will conduct in-person orientations once a month beginning in September 2021. Please check your email regularly after registering so you don't miss any information.
If you have any questions, please call us at 816-321-5011.

SNOW DAY POLICY: If North Kansas City Schools is closed due to bad weather, all classes will be conducted online.
