Course Description: This course involves the analysis of characteristics and properties of two- and three-dimensional shapes and the development of mathematical arguments about geometric relationships, with an emphasis in writing formal proofs. Students in this course will learn how to specify locations and describe spatial relationships using coordinate geometry and other representational systems. They will apply transformations and use symmetry to analyze mathematical situations. Visualizations, spatial reasoning, and geometric modeling will be used in this course to solve problems. There will be an emphasis on geometric concepts with applications in algebra, statistics, and probability.
