We are so excited to welcome our students for the start of the 2022-2023 school year! Registration information, calendars, handbooks, and school supply lists will help start the year off right.
The first day of school for Crestview Elementary and Winnwood Elementary is Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
The first day of school for all other schools will be Monday, August 22, 2022.

Enrollment & Registration
All NKC Schools families (new and returning) are required to complete the enrollment and registration process each year. Enrollment for new families and all families attending Crestview and Winnwood is now open. Enrollment for returning families will open in July 2022. See all information here.

Transportation
Updated bus information will be available in August. View your child’s bus stop information, pick-up and drop-off times in the Parent Portal. Simply log in and click the Transportation tab on the left.
If your students will ride the bus this year, make sure to download the VersaTrans My Stop App. Track bus arrival times, delays, and more right from your Apple or Android device. Learn more and get started here.

High school students will receive a list of supplies in their syllabus on the first day of class.
Technology
NKC Schools students use a variety of technology tools to support learning across all grades. All parents and guardians are encouraged to create a Parent Observer account on Canvas, our online learning management system. A parent observer account allows you to view your child's progress, assignments and other information.

Enrollment, along with grade, schedule, bus and other general information may be accessed through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Food & Nutrition Services
The federal waiver and funding that allowed us to provide free meals for all students is ending on the last day of the 2021-2022 school year. After Friday, May 27, 2022, NKC Schools will no longer be able to offer free meals for all. If you believe that you might qualify for free or reduced meals, fill out an application online as soon as possible. More information is available here.
Families are strongly encouraged to apply for the free/reduced price meals program. This ensures discounts on a variety of other programs, including testing, activity fees and more! Apply online here.
