Summer Learning Frequently Asked Questions

    Is there a cost to participate in summer learning?

    No, there is no charge to attend summer school. However, a transportation fee may be assessed. 

     

    How can I select an option for my student?

    To begin select, log in to the Parent Portal and click Summer Selection on the left side to choose your preferred option. Your student's school will be in touch to provide further details. 

     

    Can my student participate in both the June and July sessions?

    Yes, students are welcome to participate in both summer learning sessions. 

     

    What is the deadline to select an option?

    Families may select an option for their student at any time this spring, although early selection is encouraged! Simply log in to the Parent Portal and click Summer Selection on the left side to get started.

     

    What grade is my student in for summer school?

    Students in grades K-4 during the 2020-2021 school year are considered to be in the next grade level. 

    Students in grades 5-12 are considered to be in the grade level that they completed during the current 2020-2021 school year. 

     

    For students attending in person, how many days per week will they go to school?

    All students who choose the in-person option will attend four days per week, Monday through Thursday. (The first week of both June and July sessions will run Tuesday through Friday due to the holidays.)

     

    What would the weekly schedule look like for a virtual learner?

    Virtual students would log in to Canvas and engage in lessons four days per week, Monday through Thursday. Elementary school students will have opportunities to participate in live interaction with their teacher and classmates. 

     

    Will my student's teacher be from their home school?

    In most cases, your child's instructor will be from their home school. However, particularly for older students participating in virtual learning, they may be learning from a teacher from a different school.

     

    Will K2K be offered this year?

    Our schools are currently planning for K2K programs. Stay tuned for more information from elementary schools later in the spring!
