North Kansas City Schools is an award-winning school district located just north of Kansas City's vibrant downtown. NKC Schools is the second-largest and among the most diverse districts in Missouri with 21 elementary schools, two sixth grade centers, four middle schools and four high schools. The school district also offers extensive pre-K options, college and career pathways, work-based learning experiences and professional programs. NKC Schools is committed to preparing learners for success in a rapidly changing environment. Veterans Day at Meadowbrook Elementary School became a stage for a tearful, long-awaited homecoming that a young student will never forget. The surprise was eight months in the making.

Three-year-old Tucker Langford is a fighter. He lives with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB), a rare disorder that renders his skin as fragile as a butterfly's wing, and a severe heart condition. For the surprise of a lifetime, his North Kansas City Schools family and thousands of community members organized a massive parade in his honor.

The Kansas City Current and their fashion partner Nuuly gifted nearly 80 designer dresses to Winnetonka High School students, alleviating the financial stress of finding the perfect outfit for homecoming and providing a moment of joy, confidence and connection with professional female athletes.
