1988-1993
1988
The Director of Adult and Community Education research school-age childcare. Needs of parents assessment done with positive response. School-Age Child Care Coordinator is hired
1988-1989
Five sites open for care : Briarcliff, Chapel Hill, Gashland, Gracemor and Nashua. One-hundred and twenty children are enrolled, twelve staff are hired
1989-1990
Thirteen additional sites open for care. The enrollment climbs to 250 and staffing increases to 32 employees
1990-1991
Fox Hill school is added for a total of 19 sites. Upwards of 530 children are enrolled
An extended-day care program for kindergarten children is piloted at Gashland school. Summer day camp opens at four sites
1991-1992
Eight-hundred and seventy children are enrolled: 52 staff
Kindergarten extended day care is at four sites
Supervisor for summer camp s hired.
North Kansas City Public Schools is awarded a contract by the Department of Education to do technical assistance in te Kansas City region

Eleven-hundred children are enrolled with 87 staff members
Kindergarten extended day care continues at seven sites.
A summer camp (O.K Club) for middle school youth is piloted at Linden West. Technical assistance continues in the Kansas City region

Summer camp continues to grow with seven elementary sites and one middle school site. The middle school program is renamed TGA(The Great Adventure)
Six sites have been accredited by the Missouri Voluntary Accreditation Program
1996-1997
The Summer Learning Program becomes a part of the all the elementary summer camp sites. The summer camp opens for the children in the Transitional Adjustment Program (TAP) at Golden Oaks

Gashland became accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children
Site specific and health services notebooks were implemented

School-Age Child Care celebrates ten years in the North Kansas City School District

Northview Elementary is added as the twentieth site serving 67 children before and after school, and up to 22 children in kindergarten care

All-day kindergarten is implemented. EDC program phased out
Quality Facilitator is hired to oversee national accreditation of sites

Five Adventure Club sites become nationally accredited through NSACA: Chouteau, Gracemor, Northview, Ravenwood, and Topping

Briarcliff, Crestview, Davidson and Maplewood begin the process towards national accreditation

Briarcliff achieves national accreditation through NAA (formerly NSACA) Crestview and Davidson complete the quality assessment process

Chapel Hill, Clardy, Fox Hill, Meadowbrook and Northview achieve national accreditation

Bell Prairie Elementary is added as the twenty-first site serving 66 children before and after school

SACC program moves into the technology world with on-line services for parents. SACC families enjoyed an extremely successful program wide celebration for Lights on After School

Program-wide literacy curriculum is implemented involving daily literacy activities and Family Literacy Nights

Eight sites successfully complete Youth Program Quality Assessment process sponsored by United Way

School and Adventure Club are shut down due to the COVID pandemic
