Description

Drafting and design professionals use CADD programs to prepare production drawings and illustrations for architectural and engineering firms. They help design building structures, civil projects and mechanical and manufacturing processes.

In our program, you'll learn to render a wide variety of technical systems, machines and products, visually interpret concepts and work with engineers to give form to ideas.

Our degree program covers three CADD programs and parametric modeling plus courses in architecture, machine design, civil design, blueprint reading and general education courses to earn a degree and transfer for a four-year degree. Our 17-19 credit-hour certificate program covers the three CADD programs and parametric modeling.

What you'll learn

You will learn to draft and design numerous projects, including building design, building information modeling and surveying. You will learn engineering graphics and multiple Computer-Aided Drafting and Design software packages.

You can work as a drafter, designer and engineering technician at such companies as Black & Veatch, BlueScope Construction, Burns & McDonnell, Kansas City Power & Light, Sega Inc. and many more.

  College Engineering Technology I Course ID: BTC305              Credits:3 Grade Level: 11, 12 Prerequisite: None   Engineering Technology I & II Early College track will earn you:

• 39-42 college credits (You may earn your Associates Degree in one year after completeing Engineering Technology II)

  Course Description: Engineering technicians work hand in hand with engineers, technologists, industrial designers, and production specialists to design, create, and manufacture almost anything you can imagine.Engineering technicians and drafters focus on applying software, technology, and industry knowledge to projects,whereas engineers focus on theoretical thinking. Engineering technicians and drafters work with engineers, designers, physical scientists, or planners to design processes, places, or products. Students learn about engineering graphics and computer aided design, electrical theory, workplace safety, Revit, Solid Works, and Inventor software packages, entrepreneurship, and more. This program will give you solid foundational skills in computer-aided drafting and design (CADD), parametric modeling, prototyping and residential design.     College Engineering Technology II Course ID: BTC306.            Credits:3 Grade Level: 12 Prerequisite: College Engineering Technology I   Course Description: The course description is the same as Engineering Technology I.
