Description
You will work with the same equipment you'll use on the job while installing and maintaining the efficiency of climate control systems in residences and commercial settings. You also will work on furnaces, air conditioners, refrigeration units, heat pumps and boilers, develop a mind-set for safety at work and learn how to troubleshoot problems.
In addition, we offer a job-ready certificate that prepares you for residential work in as little as 15 weeks. Our advanced certificate includes commercial refrigeration, heat pumps and more. The associate's degree includes courses for transfer that you can use to transfer and pursue a bachelor's degree.
The HVAC program also prepares you to take and pass EPA 608 refrigerant certification as well the industry recognized HVAC Excellence Certifications.
What You'll Learn
You will learn to install, service and maintain climate control systems, as well as mechanical, electrical and electronic components in heating and cooling equipment.
What You'll Do and Where You'll Work
You can work as an HVAC service technician, commercial refrigeration service technician, HVAC systems installer, salesperson or service manager. Our alumni have worked for Anthony Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, A.B. May, Climate Control Heating & Cooling and many more companies.
What You'll Make
The average salary in this field is about $50,000 per year. This career has a high job growth rate of more than 20 percent.
