North Kansas City High School celebrates 100 years with centennial ribbon-cutting

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- North Kansas City High School is celebrating one century of "Excellence in Education” on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
To honor this milestone, the district is hosting a community-wide rededication and ribbon-cutting ceremony, blending 100 years of Northtown’s tradition with a showcase of its modern transformations.

The event offers several high-energy and historic visual opportunities for media attending:

The NKCHS drumline, cheerleaders, and mascot will greet guests at the new main entrance.

The ceremony will be held inside along the school’s Hall of Fame wall, featuring a historical tribute to the building’s legacy.

In a nod to the past, attendees will gather on the front stoop of "Old Main" to recreate the original dedication photograph taken on January 24, 1926.

Media are invited to join alumni and students as they tour the renovated facilities and historic corridors.
