Students who play Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Piano, Bass (Acoustic and Electric), Guitar and Drum Set are encouraged to audition for this group. Members will perform concerts for the school and community and will participate in Jazz Festivals and a culminating Big Band Dance at the end of the school year.

The Souljourners are a group dedicated to writing, sharing, revising and performing poetry. All who love poetry, writing or performing are welcome. We meet every Monday from 2:30-4:00 p.m. in D3. The Souljourners will take center stage at Winnetonka’s annual Poetry Lounge in May and participate in the Louder Than A Bomb Kansas City poetry slam competition in March. Winnetonka Griffins Television (WGTV) produces a weekly news and entertainment show known as Tonka Talks. To be a part of this dynamic crew, you must be enrolled in Broadcast Journalism I or II. Students will learn the basics of broadcasting, including hands-on experience of being behind and in front of the camera, editing techniques with professional software, and media law and ethics as it is applied to broadcasting. Students will meet during their regularly scheduled block periods and after school as needed.
