Summer Learning in North Kansas City Schools

  • North Kansas City Schools' comprehensive summer learning offerings provide a variety of opportunities for students at all grade levels. Programs are available to all district students at no cost, however, a fee may be charged for transportation. Some schools may host summer learning at combined sites due to planned construction or space limitations.

Students receiving special education services or participating in Extended School Year programs, as well as our English Language Learners students, will receive specific information from their schools. Further details about all programs will be shared with families by each school in the spring. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more.

For 2021, two sessions of summer school will be offered:

    • June session: June 1-24, four days per week
      • June 1-4, 7-10, 14-17, 21-24
    • July session: July 6-29, four days per week
      • July 6-9, 12-15, 19-22, 26-29

NKC Schools will continue to follow all COVID-19 protocols, including mask requirements, physical distancing whenever possible and contact tracing.

To begin selection, log in to the Parent Portal and click Summer Selection on the left side.

Making a selection in PowerSchool does not guarantee placement in a course for the summer at this time. Your student's school will be in touch with further details and confirmation later in the spring.
