Welcome to kindergarten!

We're thrilled to welcome you and your learner to the start of their educational journey in North Kansas City Schools. This is not only a big step for your child but also a significant moment for you as parents and guardians. It's a time filled with excitement, anticipation, and maybe even a few butterflies!

Kindergarten in North Kansas City Schools follows a comprehensive curriculum designed to build a solid foundation for your child's future, developing important social skills and mastering basics. In our classrooms, students will find a safe and nurturing space to make new friends, explore new ideas, and kickstart their school journey. Our days are filled with foundational instruction, hands-on activities, and experiences that foster emotional and social development, helping your child build confidence and skills. Of particular focus are our seven Portrait of a Graduate competencies: adaptability, communication, collaboration, empathy, integrity, problem solving and a learner's mindset.

As your family prepares to take this exciting step, we know you may have questions. The links to the right provide more information on the many resources and support services available to families throughout the district.
