Food & Nutrition Services

The NKC Schools Food & Nutrition Services Department is looking forward to welcoming your kindergartener this fall! We are committed to providing students with nutritious meals to support academic success and lifelong healthy eating habits. Food and Nutrition Services staff serve over 3 million meals a year, more than any other school district in Missouri and more than any restaurant in the Northland. All meals and snacks served meet or exceed USDA guidelines.

The federal waiver and funding that allowed us to provide free meals for all students is ending on the last day of school. After Friday, May 27, NKC Schools will no longer be able to offer free meals for all. If you believe that you might qualify for free or reduced meals, fill out an application online as soon as possible. More information is available here.

Families are strongly encouraged to apply for the free/reduced price meals program. This ensures discounts on a variety of other programs, including testing, activity fees and more! Apply online here.
