The first day of school for students will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

We have 21 elementary sites welcoming our kindergarten students next year! Each school serves a specific area of our district. To determine which school your student may attend based on your home address, visit the attendance areas page. 

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education sets the guidelines for kindergarten entry statewide. A child is eligible for admission to kindergarten if the child is five years of age on or before July 31 of the year in which they will start. For the 2026-2027 school year, this means that kindergarten students must be five on or before July 31, 2026. If you have any questions about this requirement, please feel free to contact your student's school. 

Several of our teachers have created short videos outlining expectations, academics and what you can do to help ensure your student is prepared. Check out the videos here. As the school year approaches, your student's school and teacher will share more resources as well. Our summer K2K program is a great opportunity for students to learn more about their school, practice routines and procedures and meet peers in June! Learn more and enroll in K2K here.

Kindergarten Round-Up, our event just for kindergarten families to visit the school is held the April prior to kindergarten. We can't wait to welcome families to each of our elementary buildings!

Back to School Nights

Back to school nights are held in August each year prior to the start of school. Look for further information to come from your student's school closer to the start of the new school year.

Yes! We're proud to offer Kickoff to Kindergarten (K2K) transition programs in June. Learn more and enroll in K2K here.

New students to the district (those students did not attend Pre-K in the district) may enroll for the 2026-2027 school year beginning in mid-March. Information is available here.

Returning students (those who attended Pre-K in the district) will re-enroll their students in July.
