SECURITY, SEATING, & ACCESSIBILITY

Doors to the arena will open one hour prior to the ceremony start time. All guests are required to go through security screening at the entrance.

  • All bags are subject to search. Clear bags are not required.
  • Metal detectors will be in use.
  • Balloons are strictly prohibited. Also not permitted in the arena are noisemakers, airhorns, bullhorns and similar devices.

Seating is first-come, first-served. Only the lower bowl of the arena will be open for guest seating.

The move to T-Mobile Center should provide a much-improved experience for guests with accessibility needs. Ample wheelchair-accessible seating is available around the top of the lower bowl. Please note: Only one companion will be allowed to sit with the guest in accessible seating. The rest of their party should plan to sit in the row just in front of this area.

No tickets are needed and there is no limit on the number of guests a single student may invite.

During & After the Ceremony

During the ceremony, students will walk across the stage and receive their traditional diploma covers. Students will either pick up their diploma after the ceremony or on a later date; each high school will provide specific details.

After the ceremony ends, all guests and graduates will exit the arena. Parents and guests will not be allowed on the floor before, during or after the ceremony.

The arena will be fully cleared between ceremonies. If a guest is planning to attend multiple ceremonies, they will need to exit the arena and re-enter.

Families should make plans to meet their graduate outside on the west side of the arena. Grand Boulevard will be blocked off from 13th Street to Truman Road to provide space for reunification. Additional officers from KCPD will be present to ensure safety.
