Harper Ross and Nathaniel Blanton chosen for the Big “W” Scholarship for the Class of 2018

Dr. Keith Sovereign was the first principal of Winnetonka High School and served in that position for 20 years.  In 1972 he initiated the Big “W” award to honor one boy and one girl, chosen by Winnetonka Faculty and Staff, from the graduating class who best demonstrated Good Citizenship, Community Service, Academic Performance, and Participation in School Activities.  In 2014, a scholarship was established for this award giving each students $250 each.  Student are nominated by Course Departments.  They are then asked to fill out an application and submit it for the entire staff to vote on.

We are proud to announce that Harper Ross and Nathaniel Blanton were selected this year as Winnetonka’s Big “W” recipients.  Their pictures will be displayed in the East Lobby for the next year.

Faith Endsley is a recent 2018 graduate of Staley High School and her story is a miraculous tale of conquering extreme challenges and thriving against all odds.
