North Kansas City Schools routinely looks at opportunities that help provide more funding for classrooms. In years prior, the district has paid a program fee for every online financial transaction parents make such as adding money to their child’s lunch account, buying a yearbook or paying class dues. Having the ability to pay online is very helpful in today’s busy world. We want to continue providing this opportunity while respecting the funding we receive from our tax payers.
Each year the number of people paying online increases which we believe is a great benefit to families. Unfortunately, this also increases the cost to the district. This year alone NKC Schools will spend approximately $190,000 to cover these program fees. We believe our patrons would agree this money is better spent in classrooms. Therefore, the program fee will now be included in each parent’s transaction.
As always, parents have the option to send in cash or check for payments. The district appreciates your understanding and support in this change of practice as we continue our efforts to provide the best educational experience for our students.
