About Antioch

Antioch Middle School is the home of the SPARTANS! AMS opened in 1962, with Joe Gardner as Principal. We are lucky to have a legacy of great students, staff and community members here in the North Kansas City School District! Antioch bosts several activities for our students; athletic teams, art clubs, competitive drama and more! We strive to embrace and celebrate the middle school student at this age in their development.

The program of classes at Antioch are designed to develop the interests of our students. Antioch offers Project Lead the Way (PLTW) classes in computer science and engineering where students learn problem-solving strategies, critical and creative thinking, and how to communicate and collaborate. Students can choose to develop their knowlege about about foreign languages and culture through their Encore classes. As 8th graders students can even take Spanish I for high school credit!

To address students college readiness; Antioch is proud to offer the AVID program starting in 6th grade. The AVID program runs throught the 12th grade at all NKC high schools.

  • Develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination. 
From Honors classes to music programs, Antioch strives to help each student develop their talents during their time here at Antioch!
