Middle School students have opportunities to expand their school day experience in multiple ways. Before-and-After-School activities called BASA are served up quarterly, with a fresh list of activities for which students may sign up. The after-school time may also be used for homework help on site from certified teachers.
There is a cost for BASA, but bus transportation is provided to take students home on dismissal once after-school activities are finished.
BASA is a great opportunity for students to increase learning as well as enjoy the collaboration of others with similar interests.
Middle School also brings team sports for seventh and eighth graders. Cross Country and Track are available for girls and boys in seventh grade. Cross Country, Track and Basketball are available for 8th grade girls and boys. Additionally, eighth grade girls are able to participate in Volleyball. Students also may join band or orchestra, choir and drama, and may take roles in student leadership and National Junior Honor Society.
In addition, PTSAs create fun events throughout the year both at school and away from school that encourage student involvement.
