Adult Education & Literacy

The Adult Education and Literacy program offers preparation classes for adults who want to take the Missouri high school equivalency exam.  

Students must be 17 years old or older and not enrolled in school.  

All classes are free.  Students are required to make a commitment to consistent attendance and effort.  Daytime and evening class schedules are available.

In order to enroll in Adult Education classes, you must complete an Orientation session.   Please click HERE for information concerning orientation.

Among the services offered are: 

  • Group classes with a teacher who is certified in Adult Education
  • Additional help during our Open Lab hours

Classes for Adult English Language Learners (ELL) are also offered at the Northland Human Services Center and at Eastgate Middle School.  Call (816) 321-5011 for more information.
