Transitioning to Straight Feeder Patterns
Posted 02/16/2017 09:31AM

As part of the August bond election, students in North Kansas City Schools will now progress from kindergarten to graduation in a straight feeder pattern alongside their school friends. The graphic below outlines that movement.

The next two school years will involve a bit of transition as we move towards a straight feeder pattern. A particular point to note is that in order to preserve a contiguous high school experience, current 8th graders will be assigned to their new feeder high school this August! Our current appeals process allows for siblings to follow siblings, in addition to other exceptions.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program will be unaffected by these changes. Students who chose to participate in the IB program will all continue to attend North Kansas City High School, as well as all 8th graders who elect to go IB, regardless of his/her assigned feeder pattern. Learn more about IB!
