Education Foundation Awards $29,000 in Grants
Posted 04/14/2017 02:26PM

A record 16 grants from the Education Foundation totaling more than $29,000 will benefit 6,200 district students next school year. Superintendent Dan Clemens was among those who surprised grant-winning staff members during the annual Great Grant Giveaway April 14.

The Education Foundation’s program is named in memory of Dr. Dan Kahler, a retired district principal whose gift established the grant fund. Since 1997, the Education Foundation has provided 235 grants worth nearly $315,000. Staff members submit applications that demonstrate creative and effective ways to meet student needs while increasing their achievement and motivation to learn.
