2020 No Tax Increase Bond Program

  • Bond Passes Thank You Graphic

    Promises Made, Promises Kept:

In June of 2020, North Kansas City Schools residents approved the district's $155 million no tax increase bond program as part of the district's Long-Range Facility Plan. Construction began immediately, and several new facilities have opened to the public already. Thank you to our district patrons for making new and expanded opportunities possible for the 21,000 students (and counting) that we serve!

Strong schools result in vibrant neighborhoods through increased property value and stable communities. The $155 million zero tax increase bond measure is reinvesting funds in neighborhoods throughout the district, bringing needed jobs to our community and stimulating the Northland economy.

This unique experience has allowed them to develop even more meaningful connections with their high school mentors just across the street. Teams of students are collaborating with architects to dream big, redesigning the historic Briarcliff building from the inside out. Renderings below (subject to change) show some of the proposed renovations. Additions will provide much-needed space in the cafeteria and gym as well as additional classrooms. The renovated facility will be ready to welcome students back in August 2022.
