January Student and Staff of the Month

January Student and Staff of the Month

This month the IB Learner attribute is OPEN MINDED: "We critically appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. We seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and we are willing to grow from the experience."

David Pham
David embraces students from all cultures and backgrounds. He wants all students to feel that Northtown is their home. He also invests time to learn about the values and traditions of his fellow students by joining student organizations and spending time with people from many different backgrounds.

Aisatu Nakoulima
Aisatu embodies the IB learner profile trait of open-minded. During class she is consistently seeking out the perspectives, opinions, and thoughts of other students. She has a genuine interest in learning about other cultures and a unique ability to unite the class (and ultimately the school) from the experience of learning and talking about our unique personal histories. She is an absolute pleasure to have at Northtown and always makes me #NorthtownProud!

Amber Washington
Being open minded is the willingness to search actively for evidence against one's favored beliefs, plans, or goals, and to weigh such evidence fairly when it is available. Amber embodies these traits on all levels with students, staff and her family and friends! She helps each of us grow by learning about each other and what makes each of us special. She is always so friendly and approachable, consistently wanting to get to know you as a person. She is a blessing to have at Northtown!
