Louder Than A Bomb Makes History

Congratulations to the 2019 Louder Than A Bomb poetry slam team!

They have earned a spot at the semi-final bout, March 25th at the American Jazz Museum.
The Monday after spring break please come support them as they take on Shawnee Mission South, Blue Valley North and Raytown. This is a free event!

We are proud to announce that 2019’s Louder Than A Bomb "LTAB" team made history last night. They won their preliminary bout! Winnetonka has participated in this event since its inception in Kansas City, and we consistently come in second by .7 or .5 or .2 points. But last night, we won by 1.6 points!

Cari Foster captained our team well by starting us off with high scores before she hurried to Tonka to sing with the choir!

Justice Thompson and Jaelee Pittel earned three perfect scores: 10, 10, 10!

Sophomore Stefani Maricic left it all on the stage and scored two perfect scores in this her first year in competition!

Luke Milroy anchored our team to victory last night with a blistering performance that capped off a perfect evening!

Zuhur Abdi also volunteered as the bout’s sacrificial poet, a tradition that Winnetonka has honored for years. She scored a perfect score as the sacrificial poet; that is unheard of.

Please congratulate these competitors and wish good luck to those listed below who will represent Tonka on Saturday in our second preliminary bout.

Cari, Justice and Jaelee will again perform AND Harlan Gregory and Jasper Hedge will take the stage.
